Japanese Garden Hilo, Hawaii

Japanese Garden Hilo, Hawaii

You can find the Japanese Garden in the Lili'uokalani Gardens on the Big Island of Hawaii in Hilo. The garden is a peaceful and beautiful spot, located along the famous Banyan Drive, steps from the waterfront. The Japanese Garden was dedicated in 1917 to honour the island's first Japanese immigrants. There is a beautiful 24-acre property that blends Hawaiian natural beauty and Japanese tradition. Here, you can find ponds filled with Koi, arched bridges, a charming teahouse, and traditional stone lanterns, all backed by the beautiful views of Hilo Bay and Coconut Island. There were many areas where you could find solitude, great photo opportunities, or walk around and enjoy the fantastic history, culture, and nature, all incorporated into one place.
